endless nights and hospital parties: week three.

26 weeks left...

daily updates:

25 january. we spent the whole day running around and doing errands. katy had her job interview (which emery, our boss, forgot about!!) and i spent the day with danny. he accompanied me to western union, to pick up the 1200 euro for our rent/deposit. that was not something i wanted to do by myself! after picking it up, we went to his house for a bit and drank while katy was at her interview. once katy was finished, i went home and got ready to move, meaning we played in a pile of 1200 euros...

26 january. we moved!!! blogged about here.

27 january. our housewarming party!! it was absolutely amazing, we had a few friends over for tacos and gin&juice. we dressed up like true hostesses, and stayed up super late. luckily no neighbors came by, we were really surprised!

28 january. another long night!! we had some friends over to pregame, since drinks are so expensive! i absolutely love my flat. it's the perfect place to live, to relax, or to party!

we went out dancing with some other micefa students and one frenchie. we went to this club, called "le mix" by montparnasse tower. it was full of american girls and french boys. i felt like i was their prey!! katy literally had to yell at some guys in french to get them to stop groping our friend. there was one time where tara, katy, and i were dancing and we were literally surrounded by five boys. two of them actually fought to dance with me! but they were old and not atractive, so we just laughed and ran away. the later the night got, the more fun it became. the music got better and we eventually outsmarted the boys and just danced with each other!

at about five, we decided it was time to go home. katy and i left together, and decided to walk rather than figure out the buses. [it took me a long time to adjust to them in london, it'll take even longer here, i'm sure!] we kept going the wrong way, but we weren't lost. we had our 'plan de paris'. at one point during the walk, we turned the corner, and there was the eiffel tower! its moment like that which make me realize i really am here!

29 january. an even longer night... but soooo fun!!!

during the day, our landlady came and showed us how to work some things and how to access the coal cellar [which is where they keep the dead bodies or secret families, i swear.] katy had her job interview, which had been rescheduled three times! while she did that, i was hyperproductif and slept.

that night, we went to an indie concert in the 20e. it was amazing. we danced to a dj, rocked out to 'twin twin', flirted in french and made friends with the saxophone player.

we left the concert at two, hoping to cath the last metro. we did, but while on the train, we met a boy in a pink disco suit and a girl in a gold spandex suit. they invited us to an undergound party at a hospital. of course we went along! turns out it was the orgasmic games [like the olympic games!] and it was crazy!! we went to a rave in a hospital! they were giving out beer and the shittiest rum with apple juice.

we just danced, and didnt leave until five in the morning. when we left, it was snowing!! i, of course, was too drunk to feel the cold and just enjoyed it comepletely! we got kebabs and waited for the tubes to open at five thirty. then we made our way back to my appartement and slept, around seven!!

it was really interesting, because all night, we were the only americans there. no one assumed we were american, and they all spoke french to us. we were forced to speak, but it was actually really enjoyable. i feel much more comfortable, and can only assume it will only get easier!

30 january. spent the night over at tara's. we hadn't seen her place before, so we decided to party there. we met her neighbors, two french boys. they knocked on our window and came and partied with us. it was a very chill night, although we did drink a lot of tequila and drunk dialed a bit too much... we didnt want to stay at tara's, so we took a cab home. first, we got mcdonalds... it was weird, but the only place open. french mcdonalds is definitely better than english mcdonalds.

31 january. unpacking! the first day we have had to ourselves and we are going to use it unpack, and budget. [a very scary thought!]
